5 Reasons why techies are tired of remote working

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to the biggest work transformation of today's age. While most IT workers switched to remote working, not every worker has been able to maintain productivity while working from home.

Remote working sentiments towards WFH have been evolving. Here are the top five reasons why employees are tired of WFH.

1. Privacy

The domestic arrangements at the residence of many employees have not been helping them feel comfortable with the WFH situation. The most common obstacle in WFH is the invasion of privacy. Since colleagues can see into your home and family relationships, some employees have suddenly started feeling awkward.

2. Sense of belonging

A sense of love and belonging is a fundamental need for workers. In India, many employees live away from their families in distance cities. Social distancing and self-isolation from their colleagues and friends has deprived them of human connection and interaction that is important for mental well being.

3. Meaning and purpose

One of the most important elements of WFH is knowing that your work is building towards something greater. This can be difficult to feel when working remotely. Most employees need to achieve a sense of purpose and accomplishment to boost their morale.

4. Productivity

Productivity differs from person to person. While solo tasks are easy to complete at home, for tasks that require collaboration, and team activities, remote work becomes difficult.

5. Low work-life balance

One most common misconception about WFH is that it offers a better work-life balance. But the lockdown has proved that employees are working long hours each day as the line between home and work blurs.
